The Blind See

Hundreds received sight this week!!!As a mumma (of almost 34 years), there are many proud moments. But this week is truly newsworthy & definitely mind-blowing!
Great news: the blind now see!!
How? Well, get this:
Though it’s been difficult (put that last word in capital letters!) to leave their little ones here in Oz, my daughter Kelita & son(in-law) Garren have been in Indonesia helping other little ones in villages and orphanages.
While Kelita’s son & Garren’s girls are happy & safe here with us; these kind-hearted souls have been on a mission trip, using their skills as an optical dispenser, minister and leader, to ‘bring sight to the blind’.
Hundreds of (young & old) people (who are often otherwise overlooked, ignored or ‘forgotten’) were kitted out with glasses so they can now see again.
Old Prescription glasses, that otherwise would have been thrown away, were donated by many generous residents of BatemansBay over the past few months.
OPSM kindly released their optometrist Dr Phil Taylor, while SpecSavers blessed my daughter Kelita Bourke with time off so the two could form a team, under the leadership of my son-in-law Southland Pastor Garren Walton, and transform lives on an international mission trip to help the needy.
It is such a joy and delight, privilege & honour, to have children who ‘see’ beyond their own needs and sacrificially use their time, money & skills to help others.
The trip was made possible through their own personal sacrifices, their families, the generosity of Southland Church & aforementioned businesses and a loving God who puts the needs of others into the hearts of His kids.
There are needs overseas and there are needs under our noses; together we CAN make a difference!
All I did was babysit (& pray)! The businesses released their trained staff & some essential equipment. Others generously donated funds, glasses & prayers.
It is another success story as a town gets behind a ‘vision’ and makes a worldwide difference.
Blessings abound when we ‘look’ beyond ourselves.
God bless you with EYES TO SEE.
Love, joy and happy vibes
